| that's easy to prove. obviously by definition 1 is the successor of 0 in the natural number set and by peano's axioms for natural numbers, 0 cannot be the successor of any natural number
let's assume 1=0 the successor of 0 is 1 and 1=0 hence the successor of 0 is 0, which is a contradiction. Thus 1!=0
lol. I saw a way to prove 1=0 using our daily limit laws. Some fundamental mistakes led to that. | |

| 1. a = b + 1 2. (a-b)a = (a-b)(b+1) 3. a2 - ab = ab + a - b2 - b 4. a2 - ab -a = ab + a -a - b2 - b 5. a(a - b - 1) = b(a - b - 1) 6. a = b 7. b + 1 = b 8. Therefore, 1 = 0 | |

| ian, your proof involves a step which does not obey the calcellation law for multiplication.
(ab=ac => b=c) <=> a!=0 | |

| 16 - 36 = 25 - 45 4^2 - 9*4 = 5^2 - 9*5 4^2 - 9*4 + 81/4 = 5^2 - 9*5 + 81/4 (4 - 9/2)^2 = (5 - 9/2)^2 4 - 9/2 = 5 - 9/2 4 = 5 | |

| laplace transform is important for engineers because we need it to solve differential equations. And we need differential equations a lot in modelling and stuff. Sometimes like reactors and err......... stuff. Heh. | |
